  • Critical Motorcycle Accident

A 44 year old Warren man, and his 41 year old female passenger from Fraser, were both critically injured when the motorcycle they were riding was struck in the intersection by a 34 year old Rochester Hills man driving a 2000 Ford Ranger Pick-Up. The driver of the Ford Ranger fled the accident scene, dragging the motorcycle (under the front of his pick-up) for approximately 600 yards down 26 Mile Road. Witnesses reported seeing the man stop in the middle of 26 Mile Road and attempt to dislodge the motorcycle from underneath the pick-up. When the man was unable to free the motorcycle he fled on foot. Several Officers searched the area for the man but were unable to locate him.

Several hours later Chesterfield Officers/Investigators located the man at a home in Madison Heights and took him into custody without incident. The 34 year old Rochester Hills man told Officers that he had been drinking prior to the accident and “panicked” and fled after he struck the motorcycle. The investigation is ongoing at this time and both the man and woman motorcycle riders remain in critical condition at McLaren Macomb Hospital.
