    Historic Cabin Vandalized and Robbed

    UPDATE: The Chesterfield Township Detective Bureau developed 4 juveniles suspects, who were responsible for the breaking into and vandalizing the cabin.  The juveniles admitted their roles in breaking into the cabin and stealing items from the cabin. The Chesterfield Township Detective Bureau recovered the stolen violin and long gun through the investigation. 


    Between 12/7/2018 until 3/17/2019, unknown suspect(s) broke into historical log cabin located at 47275 Sugarbush, north of the Chesterfield Township Offices.  The suspect(s) vandalized the log cabin and stole several items, which included a replica 45 caliber Hawkins Rifle and antique violin.

    The Chesterfield Police Department is currently working a serious crash in the area of 23 Mile Road  & Gratiot Avenue.  Be aware that lane restrictions are in effect as we process the crash scene, so exercise caution if traveling in the area.

    With lane closures expected for the next couple of hours, please seek an alternate route if possible.

    Bank Robbery Suspect

    On 3-7-19 at approx. 1530 hrs. the suspect shown in the photos robbed the Chase Bank in the area of 23 Mile Rd. and Gratiot. The suspect fled south on foot. A Police K-9 track led to a location of an unknown type getaway vehicle parked in the area. A note was produced and no weapon was observed.

    UPDATE:

    This suspect wanted in connection with bank robberies in Orion Twp., Shelby Twp. and Chesterfield Twp. over the past two weeks. If you know this individual, Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward (1-800-SPEAKUP).

    Counterfeit Money Suspect

    On February 24, 2019, unknown suspect went into Marco’s Pizza, located in Chesterfield.  The male used a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for a pop.  The suspect left in an unknown direction.  Several other businesses in Chesterfield have reported the same crime, with the same suspect.

    On 02/11/2019, unknown suspects went into the TJ Maxx and Speedway located in Chesterfield.  The male suspect used a cloned credit card to make purchases.  The suspect was able to complete several different transactions.  Victim made a report with the Chesterfield Police Department about unauthorized charges on his credit card. Possible suspect vehicle is a Silver/Gray Jeep Compass/Cherokee

    During the early morning of 02/11/2019 two subjects were observed in the area of English Oaks, Boland, Leshan, and neighboring sub-divisions, stealing from unlocked vehicles.

    Be sure you are not a victim and lock your vehicle doors.

  • Fatal Rollover Crash

    Fatal Rollover Crash

    On 01-25-19 at 10:35 PM Chesterfield Police, Fire and Medstar Ambulance were dispatched to East Russell Schmidt Blvd near 22 Mile Rd for a single vehicle rollover traffic crash.

    The first responders discovered Jeremy Ahnen, a 30 year old resident of Rochester Hills, dead on the scene from injuries suffered in the rollover crash. Ahnen was the passenger in a vehicle being driven by a 46 year old New Baltimore resident. The driver suffered serious injuries and was transported by Ambulance to a local hospital.

    Chesterfield Police Department is currently investigating the fatal crash.

    UPDATE:  This subject has been located and interviewed by Chesterfield Police Detectives.  He is currently in Macomb County Jail on unrelated charges.

     

    On 01/07/2019 the suspect shown in the attached photos concealed $288 worth of Adidas Boxer Briefs into a $50 backpack at Meijer and exited the store with the merchandise. The total loss was $338.

  • Fatal Crash

    Fatal Crash

    A 31 year old Armada MI resident died in an early morning traffic crash on 23 Mile Rd east of Sass Rd. The deceased and his 31 year old friend, were walking westbound on 23 Mile Rd when they were both struck by a 22 year old Chesterfield resident. The Ford SUV involved in the crash rolled after the collision. The friend was treated for minor injuries at the scene and released.

    The Chesterfield Twp Police Dept is currently investigating the crash. The operator of the Ford was not injured in the crash. He was arrested and held at the Police Dept. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.

  • Woman Stabs Boyfriend In The Neck

    Woman Stabs Boyfriend In The Neck

    Chesterfield Twp Police received a report of a violent injury on Jan 02, 2019 at 7:31 PM from McClaren Hospital. The 31 year old victim was recovering from surgery after being stabbed in the neck by his girlfriend, 26 year old Crystal Wright of Chesterfield. The stabbing occurred during an argument between the couple in Wright’s Chesterfield apartment. The assault took place in front of the victim’s young daughter along with Wright’s two young children.

    Chesterfield Officers were able to discover Wright’s whereabouts by speaking to neighbors who heard the assault and Wright’s parents who live nearby. Officers responded to a Chesterfield restaurant where Wright is employed and took her into custody without incident.

    This case was reviewed by the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office. Crystal Wright was arraigned today at 42-2 District Court on the charge of Assault With Intent To Commit Great Bodily Harm Less Than Murder a 10 year Felony. She is currently lodged at the Macomb County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
